Giant Robots Rise in NYC for JAPAN

NEW YORK - New York artist Skye Nicolas responds to the tragic events that unfolded on Thursday morning, March 11, 2011, when a 8.9 magnitude earthquake shook the northern coast of Japan which lead to a widespread tsunami alert - By projecting giant iconic images of famous Japanese animated characters known as Super Robots onto the facade of buildings, Nicolas creates a sci-fi fantasy cityscape environment guarded by vigilant giants. Nicolas' giants will be projected for a limited time at various undisclosed keypoint locations around the city. Bystanders who were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Super Robots have spotted them on 3rd Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Park Avenue, Union Square, SoHo and Chinatown.
