Thanks To George Takei, People Are Giving Alabama "The Wedding Finger"

Takei tweeted a photo of himself and his husband "flipping off" the camera with their wedding rings. The actor urged others to do the same in response to the Alabama Supreme Court order that was issued on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, the Alabama Supreme Court halted the issuing of marriage licenses temporarily to same-sex couples.

Actor George Takei and his husband shared this picture in response:

Takei urged others to give Alabama the "wedding finger" by posting a photo of their ring finger and tagging it with #LuvUAlabama.

Referencing the Tuesday night decision, Takei said Alabama "gave SCOTUS the finger" by stopping same-sex couples' marriages in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court allowed a federal court order striking down the ban to go into effect in February.

"Couples, let's respond! Whether gay or straight, post a photo on FB or Twitter giving AL the "wedding finger" and tagging #LuvUAlabama. Tag your state (e.g. #NY) to join our nationwide map," Takei wrote in the caption for his Instagram photo.

The wedding ring photos started coming in from all over the country.

People are letting the Alabama Supreme Court know exactly how they feel.

You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers. #LuvUAlabama
