Chuka Umunna Can't Tell The Difference Between Worcester And Wichita

    Cue Glen Campbell.

Labour MP Chuka Umunna has confused the West Midlands town of Worcester with Wichita, a town in Kansas more than 4000 miles away.

The shadow business secretary appeared on BBC Hereford and Worcester yesterday to promote Labour's latest business policy before he made the gaffe. You can listen to it here from 19 seconds in:

The Labour MP was responding to a suggestion that the party had failed to speak to the public "like normal people". Umunna, MP for Streatham, said: "I doubt most people on the streets in Hereford and Wichita know what a local enterprise partnership is about but your local branch of the chambers of commerce or federation of small businesses, they will know what that's about."

The radio presenters mocked him the next day by playing Glen Campbell's Wichita with a voiceover from the Labour MP. You can skip to 51 seconds if you just want to hear the song:

    Palm. Face.
