1. Labour MP Chuka Umunna has confused the West Midlands town of Worcester with Wichita, a town in Kansas more than 4000 miles away.
The Labour MP was responding to a suggestion that the party had failed to speak to the public “like normal people”. Umunna, MP for Streatham, said: “I doubt most people on the streets in Hereford and Wichita know what a local enterprise partnership is about but your local branch of the chambers of commerce or federation of small businesses, they will know what that’s about.”
