U SILLY. Some of my best friends (and even my fiance) are British and I absolutely love it there. It’s a great country. It’s got its fair share of racists, sure, but you won’t find a place that doesn’t. I’d move there if not for their jobs problem.

England is wonderful. I would live there in a heartbeat if I could. Racism is everywhere.

Hate to break it to you, love… Racism is everywhere. I wouldn’t let something like this sway you away from visiting England. It doesn’t deter me… Mostly because I’m a hot American girl who has a passionate knowledge of BBC shows… and I know there’s a niche for that there. ;)

Come to Scotland! Or Wales.. Or Ireland..

I’m a Canadian who lived in England for two years. Wonderful country. Loved the media/cultural life, beer, landscape, and most of the people.  But there are a lot of racists. In smaller cities in the North, people *assume* you’re racist if you’re white, and make horrible comments about “immigrants” as soon as they meet you. (Meanwhile, listen to my accent — *I’m* an immigrant!) Britain has to confront this stuff at some point.

You don’t want to visit England anymore because of that small incident? Because all ethnicities and religions lives so peacefully together in your country right?(assuming you are American)…Lowes??!
