As his mum wrote (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2013/10/11/i-know-the-sad-kid-at-the-zoo/) ” … a father took his son out for a walk in the neighborhood and sent a funny snapshot to his wife, and she put it up on Instagram, and someone else put it up on Facebook, and someone else put it up on Reddit, and within a matter of hours, bam, there was the toddler on the NBC Nightly News, fair game for commenters around the nation.” It acquired layers of meaning in reinterpretation by other people later on. Images don’t tell the truth divorced from context.
I got a response from Borders Malaysia:
Ad was neither shown to nor approved by Borders Malaysia. McCann’s not ad agency for more than 2 years now. So how the hell did it end up here and what are the ethics of posting something that isn’t a legitimate ad and which damages the image of that store?
