According to Game Theories Sonic the hedgehog has a top speed of 10 meters a second, while a regular hedgehog travels at about nowhere close to that.

2. Color

Sonic the hedgehog is blue. If actual hedgehogs were blue they would be a lot easier to spot by predators and thus not last very long, speaking of predators…

3. Sidekick

According to hedgehoghelp.co.uk Foxes are a major reason for the decline of hedgehogs, so no hedgehog will be palling around with a fox like Sonic and Tails do, no information as of yet on wether 2 tailed foxes have a different approach when it comes to eating hedgehogs

4. Feet

Unlike sonic, actual hedgehogs aren’t bipedal, and don’t wear sneakers for that matter.

5. Human relationships

In Sonic 2006, it is quite clear that Sonic has some sort of weird relationship with Elise, no similar relationships between hedgehogs are known, though we didn’t do that much research because ew gross.
