R.I.P Prince Chunk

Prince Chunk was the 44 pound New Jersey house cat who made some headlines a few years ago. His owners home had been foreclosed upon and they were forced to give him up for adoption. He succumbed to heart failure. Farewell sweet Prince.

  • Just so everybody doesn't automatically get all ohhh animal abuse, he may have had a gland/thyroid problem. My cat is overweight… he is 35 pounds… He has been on a diet for as long as I can remember. He gets 1/4 of food a day, but he has not lost any weight. We don't abuse him at all! He is just a fatty.

  • I think its sad when people overfeed their animals and force them into early death. It's one thing to be an overeater yourself and succumb to the many diseases and conditions that go hand in hand with morbid obesity, however overfeeding a pet and essentially cutting their natural life short is as cruel as starving a pet to death, it just takes a little longer.
