• Here is my favorite Bachmann quote:
“This is not symbolic, this is why we were sent here and we will not stop until we repeal a president and put a president in the position of the White House who will repeal this bill, until we repeal the current Senate, put in a Senate that will listen to the American people and repeal this bill,” Bachmann said on the House floor Wednesday afternoon (1/19/11). She followed this up by referring to the “crown jewel of socialism”! ROFL You have to admit, she does prove one thing - anyone can get elected to Congress, even the functionally illiterate! I did briefly consider setting up a charity to raise funds to buy dictionaries for Congress members such as Ms Bachmann but I fear it would do little, if any, good. The Republican motto seems to be that they are above the use of a dictionary (or should that read: 'beyond the help of a dictionary'?) and cheerfully continue to misuse even basic political terms like 'repeal' (repeal a president? repeal the Senate? dear me) and 'socialism'. The latter would have to rate as the most misused and misunderstood word in the Republican vocabulary. By their very fluid 'definition', every other post-Industrial country in the world is socialist - which would come as a complete surprise to every single one of them! Oh and Michele - 'crown jewel' only applies if you're referring to a monarchy; socialist regimes don't tolerate royalty of any kind, well known for it in fact. I do so hope that Ms Bachmann will be running for President in 2012 - the material she has provided American comedians to date will be increased a hundredfold - fun and laughs for all!

I did briefly consider starting a charity to raise funds to buy Congress members, like Ms Bachmann, a dictionary but I'm not sure it would do any good. Republicans at large seem to think themselves above the use of a dictionary (or should that read 'beyond the help of a dictionary'?) and cheerfully misuse basic political terms like 'repeal' (repeal a president? repeal the Senate? Dear me) and 'socialism'. The latter must be the most misused and misunderstood word in the Republican vocabulary.
