The 555 area code is used by Hollywood because normal people wouldn't want their phone number appearing in a movie and a bunch of idiots dialing it. Take “867-5309” for example. You know you heard it before, but where? That's right, a REALLY popular song in the 80s had it. And the band got sued for it because of all the prank calls people got.  So let them keep using “555-” and stop calling it “cliche” like it's lazy.
