The Simpsons Are Going To Meet The '80s Versions Of Themselves In "Treehouse Of Horror"

Entertainment Weekly reported that the family will meet themselves in The Simpsons' next Halloween special.

Remember what the Simpsons looked like before they got their own show?

This is what the Simpsons looked like when they first appeared, in a series of shorts that ran during The Tracey Ullman Show from 1987 to 1989 and preceded the television series The Simpsons. You will have seen these shorts again in "The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular".

Well, the current Simpsons will be meeting their Ullman-era selves in the next "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween episode.

Entertainment Weekly reported that one of the episode's three shorts will see the Simpson household being haunted by ghosts of their '80s selves. Executive producer Al Jean said: "The great thing is we didn’t have to ask. We already had the cast hired for the Tracey Ullman Simpsons."

Jean confirmed the report by tweeting the story.

So this means that there's going to be a Family Guy crossover episode...

    ...a Futurama crossover episode...

This will air on Fox on 9 November. Futurama characters have made cameos in episodes before, such as in an episode during The Simpsons' 16th season.

...AND a Tracey Ullman crossover within the space of a month! This is so incredibly meta.

Entertainment Weekly said the episode will debut in the US on 19 October on Fox.
