"Never Mind The Buzzcocks" Has Been Cancelled After Nearly 20 Years

Broadcast reports that the quirky and occasionally controversial panel show has been axed to "create space for new entertainment formats in the future."

Broadcast has reported that Never Mind The Buzzcocks, the music panel show currently presented by Rhod Gilbert, has been axed by the BBC.

After 28 series we've decided not to bring Never Mind the Buzzcocks back to the BBC. This will create space for new entertainment formats in the future. We'd like to thank the team at Talkback, Rhod Gilbert, all the brilliant hosts over the years and of course Noel and Phill for the years of enjoyment they've given BBC Two viewers.

There's been sad reaction to the cancellation.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks has been cancelled by the BBC :'( That was like one of three things I only ever watch on TV 👎

Never Mind The Buzzcocks cancelled after 18 years. This some sort of sick joke? How are you supposed to know if you've finally made it then?

But if they cancel Never Mind the Buzzcocks how will I find out that z-listers who appear in the identity parade are working on new albums?

Whilst some people called the show rather tired.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks has finally had a garden spade bashed on its head and been put out of its misery, thank God.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks axed? Didn't even realise it was still going.

The show has had controversial moments, most notably Preston from the Ordinary Boys walking out when quotes were read out from his wife's book.

Huey Morgan also once also smashed a mug and walked off the show in 2013 after being disgruntled from hearing lyrics from his songs over and over.

But mostly the show will be remembered for its quirkiness and jabs at modern music culture.
