Culture Buzz The anti-Columbus Day movement grows steadily every year. Slave trader or bold explorer? Started in Colorado, the anti-Columbus Day movement made headlines last year with a bunch of arrests at the Denver Columbus Day parade. Growing up, I only knew Columbus as the guy who gave me a day off school between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. We’re not pro-Columbus at BuzzFeed, obviously, as we’re working on his big day.
