BUZZ: Ok what is wrong with the names she has chosen? Who are you people to make judgement on Her. What about the names that the people in Hollywood give their kids? Does anyone comment on that? Get real people. Let her name her kids what she wants and MYOB.

BUZZ: If her kids were named Sunshine, Flower, Doobie, and Rainbow, the Repubs would never have her as a running mate. But, she still sounds like a hippie to me! In fact I’ll bet that there are thousands of hippies more qualified than her.

BUZZ: Trig is a Norse word meaning “true” and “brave victory.” It’s also a family name, the name is in honor of his great uncle, a Bristol Bay fisherman, while the name Paxson comes from the well-known snowmobiling area in Alaska, which Sarah and her husband Tom love.

BUZZ: Sorry if this duplicates—-Bristol — the bay where her father fishes (commercially)— Willow — the former potential “New” Alaskan capital — the “Center”— Piper — (Piper Cub) — very popular and dependable “Bush” Plane — Track— obvious reference to “First born’s” potential hunting abilities —Trig — My interpretation - Greek — Three—- referring to—the Trinity — Father, Son & Holy Spirit —- Tying together the Native American tradition of giving names with deep personal meaning and experience - and the belief than those with “Special Needs” are closer to God — Todd Palin is Native— Glad to see they didn’t name their kids from the list in People Magazine

BUZZ: She is an independent ALASKAN woman with ALASKAN class. If you must know, I will do my best to explain the names. Track and Trig are family names from the Palin side of the family. Bristol is named for a famous fishing region of Alaska, Bristol Bay. Her father is a commercial fisherman. Willow is not named after the tree but for a tiny community a few miles from Wasilla. My favorite, Piper, is assumably named after the Piper Cub, the most popular aircraft in Alaska. So there. Classic Alaskan names.

BUZZ: So glad not every child is named Christopher or Michael, or a bunch or nonsensical phonemes stuck together. Personally, I prefer the Southern method— using maiden/family names for the next generation.. Gives a sense of who you are.

BUZZ: As a transported new Alaskan (since 1996) I have been amazed at the independence and development in Alaskan kids. I think it is obviously promoted by their parents . I have often thought that it begins with naming. Many kids in Alaska have names that have strong meaning to families and communities, but might not be popular outside. These are real Alaskan names, with a history and relevance to Alaska. Look ‘em up! I say GO—Track, Willow Piper, Bristol & Trig!
