Tim Burton is one of my all time favourite directors, he is probably the biggest reason i wanted to work with film, but he has made a few bad ones, I can agree with that, but I would be really happy if he ever won the oscar.
I also think it is most unorthodox of you not to include Bergman, my good fellow. We swedes are a proud people, and we demand that every list ever made has to have Bergman somewhere in it. shame on you.
Also David Lynch and Terry Gilliam should be there. And Lars von Trier maybe.
Spike Lee is awesome.

etc. But if you’re an actor who becomes a shitty director there’s an oscar waiting for you (Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Kevin Costner) or at least a nomination (Streisand Jodie Foster)
All unbelievable hacks compared to the list above. Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum, Fred Astaire, Marlene Dietrich, Lauren Bacall never won oscars for a performance. The shitty “We fucked up” lifetime oscar they gave Grant doesn’t count.

Surely you’re joking about Tim Burton, right? Ed Wood was a long time ago, and since he’s become a glorified production designer whose “directing” consists of slathering his tired, cliche aesthetic all over the most dull, formulaic blockbuster fare he can find.

Spike Lee directed Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, and The 25th Hour. Three of the best pictures you’ll ever see. I also think Bamboozled and Crooklyn are great, unjustly maligned movies. In short, fuck these haters mane.

Altman’s award was not pothumous. It was given to him the year before he died.

Tim Burton is in no way comparable to Fellini or Altman.

No one cares about Spike Lee. He has made a couple good movies (it hurts me physically to say that.) But, you people remember that he tried to SUE Spike TV for using the name Spike right? That’s why I dislike him so, because he thinks he owns the name “Spike.”
