  • radiohead is unbelievably innovative. From their sound to their stage set up, they challenge all the norms and succeed in the mainstream. I can see why some people don’t “get it”, but if they stuck with the Pablo Honey sound they would have been mediocre and forgotten, no better than say the Stone Temple Pilots. Instead, with beautiful music and biting social commentary like “Ok Computer”, they’ve established themselves as legends.

  • Pablo Honey was an ambitious achievement by a young band who previously sounded a little too much like U2 and REM. The Bends is a near-perfect snapshot of Radiohead distilling their approah to rock music. As another commenter understated: it “had feeling”. The best in their catalog in my opinion. It remains of my favorite albums- I used to listen to it constantly but now rarely do. OK Computer is a master work that will most likely be what RH is remembered for. Any release after that I don’t hold any excitement for. It was fortuitous that “In rainbows” was available free, because after spending money on the critics’ darling “Kid A” and the followup— that I could only remember the title as “Insomniac” because it was sleep-inducing background post-modern muzak— I vowed to never spend another dime on new Radiohead albums.

  • The Bends had feeling, and I really loved it. That was the end. In Rainbows was intolerable. I’ve lost any ability to understand just what in the fuck Yorke is on about. There is no thread, no central theme to this stuff. It’s all just grinding, boring and soulless.

  • Justin Timberlake, Creed, and Menudo have all demonstrated the same staying power, mass appeal, and following that Radiohead has.

  • Who gives a $hit what these no talent writers have to say? Radiohead embodies both brilliant music and lyrics. They’re music is waining? Who cares? They have plenty in the past to back up their reputation. Lets see if any other band currently out there has the staying power, mass appeal, and following that Radiohead has.
