dooflotchie 2 years agoCould someone please explain to me why a guy who rapes a minor child is pretty much universally hated *UNLESS* it’s Roman God Damn Polanski? Really. I am so frickin tired of people saying it’s wrong and unfair for him to be jailed for what he did when he:
1) Pleaded GUILTY to the charges.
2) Fled to Europe before he was sentenced.
3) Remained a fugitive for THIRTY fucking years while he very publicly sported himself all over the world (except for the one country where he’d be arrested the second he stepped foot over the border), making movies and being treated like a king every place he went. If he was Joe Smith the mechanic he’d have been rotting in prison for years, but since he’s Roman Polanski the artsy-fartsy film director I guess it’s OK for him to rape a 13 year old girl? WTF. A sex offender is a sex offender no matter what his occupation. -
