The difference between Radiohead, Miley, and Kanye is that one is talented, deliberate, somewhat socially responsible, and musically important pop artist and the others are Miley and Kanye. Kanye is posing as a good musician, someone who makes empty political gestures like a song about diamonds and africa and then with every other gesture, contradicts social consciousness and makes a frail, inarticulate, and arguably insincere statement about Katrina and Bush. West doesn't strike me as a very politically brave person. Miley get's a pass because she's not yet an adult. Radiohead's gesture of offering their album for whatever price people wanted to offer for it is a simple but bold one. They sacrificed money out of their own pockets. In addition Yorke's statements were very classy at least, unlike the two kids'.
