In the first panel, the sports dude is angry because the speaker is comparing his pastime/manner of dress to a slightly less socially acceptable pastime/manner of dress. In the third, the sci-fi dude is angry because the speaker has confused different people (who create different kinds of TV shows) with each other, and deigns to comment on things as if knowledgeable about them while simultaneously demonstrating ignorance. In the second panel, by confusing the two unrelated meanings of the word ‘prime’ (one of which makes absolutely no sense in this context), it is in fact the ‘math nerd’ who demonstrates ignorance by becoming angry. Suit dude has greater justification for becoming angry in this situation, because his date has just demonstrated that she is thick.
Thus, the second panel totally doesn’t work.”
