Nothing beats the smell of paper anyway! Oh, who am I kidding … I'd kill my own cat if people started downloading my book en mass.
Tech Buzz Bowing to the whims of a publisher, Amazon remotely deleted thousands of copies of 1984 and Animal Farm from people's Kindles. Sure, they were also reimbursed. But the irony here couldn't be much less subtle.

fuck. that. shit.
I am returning my Kindle. Seriously. I love the gadgetry of it but this is too, well, Orwellian.
The idea that they indefinitely control what you've already bought is incredibly shady. And yet I'm sure there are still many bloggers out there that swear by the Kindle.
I've always hated the Kindle for this exact reason - you don't actually “own” anything on it. Amazon still controls everything on it and how you can (or can not, in this case) interact with your purchases. It was always an abstract “but you're giving up your freedom” argument…until now. Thanks, Amazon!
Too good to be an ironic coincidence.
