It tastes like a strong licorice spirit. I like it from time to time and don’t really see what makes it so lame.

I usually disagree with Scott’s sense of taste but here I agree completely. Absinthe is faux-trendy like calling all clothes made before 2000 “vintage”. It tastes terrible, is overpriced, and seems to me just like slightly upmarket everclear. I drank it freshman year of college, as someone has snuck it in from Europe, thinking it was cool and ended up in the south side of chicago lying down next to a fence with no idea where I was and unable to get up and had to be dragged by my friends back to my dorm to puke. Yay alcohol poisoning! Never have drank the stuff again.
