    <p>Definitely a WTF photo but essential strangeness is one thing that I love about visiting Japan. You never know when they might have something OMG around the next corner.
This link is to a photo that I took in 1985 of the same Akihabara railway overpass in Tokyo. Some of the advertising signs have been painted different colours but the writing otherwise seems to match. They have built a lot of new buildings but the neon remains the same.</p>
