I think I’ve had all the standard bad housemates over the last three years. The one who never showers, the one who never pays rent, the one who steals everybody else’s food, the dope fiend (currently in residence). The worst was when my sister in law (who lives in the basement with said dope fiend) convinced us to let her co-worker stay with us for a month. She turned up with her adult daughter and multiple pets, including two toy dogs that she would lock in carrier cages while she was at work and they would whine and howl all day to be let out, we let them out once and she threw a fit that resulted in threatening to call the cops. They refused to use or even unpack their own dishes and pretty much treated the house like it was theirs. Also the room with the washer and drier was connected to their room and they would lock the outside door to it from their side so although we had a washer and drier in the house we had to use a laundromat. Then her teenage son showed up (no idea where he was living before) and moved in as well, so now three people and at least four animals are living in a master bedroom. The son would skip class and bring his girlfriend over to smoke pot and have almost cartoonishly loud sex, and the mother would yell at us for not stopping him. They lived there for almost a year before we managed to kick them out.
