For the love of jebus, Michele, Jonah didn't say that women's colleges were “full of people” who were scared. I believe his actual words were “some percentage”. You're overreacting. Just like a woman… :-D And you know what? 100% of Wellesley students made a conscious choice to attend a school for women instead of a co-ed school. They may be scared, religious, lesbian…maybe they just don't want to deal with the social expectation that they shave their armpits. Seriously, though — the real point is that using this one survey conducted at a single women's college to draw conclusions about colleges in general is as dubious as Sarah Palin's claim to understand “real America” from her time governing Alaska, the state that's least like the other 49 than any other.

what about the size of each examined major? what if there were 1 studio art student (not a virgin) versus 100 math students (17 of whom were not virgins)? one could always speak from the other side of the story that the absolute non-virgin number in math major is actually greater. the percentage doesn't say much when it's completely taken out of context. in many ways it's a biased representation of preconceived knowledge. as a former art student, i think my analysis just outgeek the chart.

My spelling does suck but I don't think I insulted anyone. Nothing wrong with choosing to be a virgin.

Wellesly is a woman's college and some percentage of the students go there because they are religious or culturally conservative or scared of boys. That probably raises the virginity numbers a bit because 10% or 20% of the student body are not even candidates for sexual activity.

Does this seem high to anyone? I mean, if “Undeclared” is a baseline, 2/3 of college students are virgins?
