Sunny von Bulow

Heiress Sunny von Bulow died yesterday after a coma that lasted almost 28 years. Her obituary is a soap-opera-worthy story of society scandal and attempted murder. Her second husband, Claus von Bulow, was convicted (then acquitted on appeal) of trying to kill her twice. Her first husband was royal tennis pro Prince Alfred von Auersperg. This woman was so wealthy that she could have the lawn of her Newport mansion lowered by 17 feet to improve her view of the ocean. Her story inspired the movie “Reversal of Fortune,” starring Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons.
