I live in WV, fairly close to where this show is staged. Yes, staged. Most, if not all, of these kids are from upper middle class families and they don’t talk like that. They didn’t crawl out of the sticks; they’re just putting on a show to make money, not caring about the damage it will cause to our beautiful state’s already fragile reputation. There are “rednecks” in every state if you look. West Virgina is no different, and “Buckwild” is by no means an accurate portrayal of our people and values.
