That all we do is clean up poop/body fluids. Yes, that’s part of the job, but we are medical professionals. We have lives in our hands. We titrate drips to control our patients’ blood pressure, heart rates, and more. We know when to call the doctor and what orders to anticipate or ask for. We do so much more than just pass meds.
Another thing that is frustrating is when people don’t understand the emotional stress. We witness horrible tragedies and death almost daily. It is really hard to deal with such things then leave work and hear someone complaining about how bad their day was when I just witnessed someone lose a family member.
