Brian is referring to a New Zealand preacher called Brian Tamaki. You can Wikipedia him but essentially he’s a bit like the Christian TV evangelists seen in America. He’s a self-appointed Bishop of his own church and crosses the line into cult status in the eyes of many (including my own).
