Subway Stair Irregularity Causes Everyone To Trip
Filmmaker Dean Peterson noticed a particular staircase he used regularly would constantly cause him to trip. Upon further investigation he discovered that this less than an inch difference was causing everyone to trip, so he decided to make a hilarious video about it.

The greatest thing is that it will take the MTA about 2 months to fix it at a cost of over $100,000. Even though it’s only one step. Thanks Mikey Bloomberg for worrying about soda, when you could be reigning in the MTA instead. /rant

interesting insight into how our brains process something seemingly as automatic as climbing stairs. Seems like we become acclimated to a certain change in height and automatically take each step accordingly (and precisely, as the inch difference in height shows here, a small variance, either over or under stepping, can easily result in a trip). I wonder how different the effect would be if it were earlier step (between the 1st and 5th), or, how long does it take for us to come to automatically acclimate to a particular step height? Wow, I just nerded out.
