Back in 2009, rumors were swirling that Yahoo would to acquire Tumblr for "low to mid-eight figures." Karp, however, vehemently denied the rumor. But it appears that he was holding out for much, much more as Tumblr was acquired today for $1.1 billion — a cool 10 figures.
