The Hindu Mahasabha Rejected Statues Of Gandhi's Assassin For Looking Too Chubby

You think people won't fat shame you just because you're an inanimate object? Think again, guy.

This is Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.

His former party, right-wing group Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha, has been advocating the recognition of Godse as a martyr.

In January, 2015, they proposed the installation of Godse statues across India.

The move was opposed by various quarters, with prohibitory orders issued against installation of the statues.

Of course, a silly little court order wasn't gonna stop these guys.

They got his statues built and plans were on to get them erected soon... Save for one tiny thing.

#HinduMahasabha postpones plans to instal #godse statues as "he was never this fat n chubby." New statues coming soon

They rejected the statues for looking fatter and chubbier than the real Godse, and are now getting them replaced with new slim ones.

I mean, sure, this guy has a bit of a double chin. But it isn't ~that~ bad.

You stay strong, statue dude. Don't listen to the haters.
