Three Students Were Shot At A Pittsburgh High School, Suspect In Custody

Two of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries while the third is in critical condition.

Authorities have confirmed that multiple people were shot outside of Brashear High School in Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon. Shots were reportedly fired a little before 3 p.m., as classes were getting out for the day.

Authorities have confirmed for local reporters that law enforcement is currently searching for multiple suspects in the woods behind the school.

Brashear High School is the largest public high school in Pittsburgh with 1500 students. The middle school that is attached to it is also in lockdown.

According to early reports, three students were shot. Two of them are in non life-threatening condition and one is in critical condition. There were three men wearing all black who came out of the woods and opened fire, according to homicide detectives.

WTAE-TV Pittsburgh is reporting that one person was taken into custody by the SWAT team.

As of Wednesday night, four people are in custody, connected to the shooting. So far, AJ Willet is the only suspect that has been named by law enforcement.

Muller says he was walking towards his girlfriend’s car, behind the school, when he heard three to four shots. He saw that one student, who he didn’t know the name of, was shot in the head.

“I didn’t see where he was shot at because there was so much blood already,” Muller said. “Maybe 4 to 5 minutes after the shots occurred, now I’m holding the towel around the kids’ head.”

Muller made a 9-1-1 call as he was holding the injured student. He didn’t see the shooter.

“[The injured student] thought he fell and got hurt. He didn’t know what was going on. So they were telling him that he just fell and hit his head and he was bleeding because he had a little scrape. Trying to keep him calm and keep him alert,” Muller said. “He was out of it.”

He says he didn’t know of the other two victims until he got home and saw it on the news an hour or so later.
