Los Angeles’ frozen nightmare is spreading, as Houston and Phoenix are now both recording record low temperatures. Some are bravely taking to twitter to keep those on the east coast updated.

erinkcorbett 4 months agoMeanwhile in Georgia, it’s 30 degrees one week and this week it’s almost in the 70s. Next week, back to 30s. Southern hospitality doesn’t apply to the weather

missashley 4 months agoI’m in Arizona and it is cold. I understand how easy it is to mock us, but consider looking at your record low temp’s and imagine it being colder than that outside. Then maybe you can see where we’re coming from. Our winters aren’t real winters by any means, which is a good thing considering we obviously can’t handle it.

tarabutlers 4 months agoI’m in Phoenix and when you’re used to 120 in the summer, 28 degrees is pretty cold! I only own 3 pairs of closed toe shoes:) I don’t think I could handle the real cold back east.

lyndseym 4 months agoyou don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on warm clothing. that’s what thrift stores are for. I can go find a good winter jacket (that is also cute/adorable/fashionable/whatever) for $10. and if you’re only wearing it for a month, what’s it matter where it came from to begin with?

janem9 4 months agoCalm down folks, we aren’t used to the cold weather here and are therefore not properly equipped to handle it. Case in point, living in Houston (with scorching summer heat and humidity 11 months out of the year), I have all of maybe two sweaters and one good pair of winter boots. Yeah, I could spend a couple hundred bucks to get a jacket, gloves, mittens, or whatever supplies people need in cold weather, but it wouldn’t make sense for me, economically, as that money is hard to come by. I’d rather use it on items I will need during the hot rest of the year. So please, allow me this one month to freak out.

Ashley S 4 months agoUMMM I grew up in Syracuse NY, lived in Upstate NY for 19 years, where we get an average of 120 inches of snow each winter, and currently live in San Diego. Where I’m freezing my ass off. My cost of living is high to live in a place where it’s sunny year-round and the climate is temperate. And when it’s not that way, for an extended period of time, and I’m having to pay to heat my home in addition to that high cost of living, yeah. I have every right to complain.
