1. The attack was carried out by government Black Ops, not a lone shooter.
A sadly prominent theory is that the military filled the school with actors and the attack was faked using Black Ops soldiers. Fromthetrenchesworldreport.com points to the confused reports of the shooter's appearance that came in early morning:
Original reports said the shooter was wearing camouflage pants and a utility vest and then it was black fatigues and an armored vest. Today the two accounts which would indicate two shooters have been morphed into the lone wolf dressed in “black camouflage”. This is a black op.
2. The Sandy Hook victims and parents interviewed were actors.
Youtube user WeTheCom1, along with many Twitter users, have been passing around a video of a father of one of the murdered children laughing during a press conference. From the video's summary:
Fathers of slain children do not go around joking and laughing the next day this guy is a fraud and he is an actor and so is the aunt that spoke before him and this entire shooting is a scam to take away gun right for a much bigger global domination plan.
3. "The Dark Knight Rises" was actually a warning from the government or possibly The New World Order.
There is a location called "Sandy Hook" on a map of Gotham City that was used for the film. And many sites are claiming it was a warning, especially considering the franchise's ties to the Aurora Shooting. Infowars.com lays the blame on Satanic spells used by the Pentagon propaganda machine:
There can be no question that occult magic is in practice in the upper-most tiers of secret societies and that it is continuously being researched and experimented with using us, the unwitting public, as disposable guinea pigs.
4. There was a second shooter "in camo pants and a dark jacket" arrested at the scene.
Tumblr user Illuminology points to the same confusion around the shooter's ID Friday morning and connects it to mixed reports of which weapons were found by the police:
According to multiple eyewitness reports from Aurora, Colorado, including at least one caught on camera by mainstream media news reports in Colorado, James Holmes did not operate alone... But the media quickly eliminated any mention of a second shooter from its coverage, resorting to the typical cover story of a “lone gunman.” Today, the exact same thing is happening with the Newton, CT school shooting.
Youtube user PathocracyNow has a video interviewing a Newtown resident claiming to have seen a second shooter. In the video's description:
It is clear that 20-year-old Adam Lanza could not have done this all by himself (assuming he was actually involved - we have no way of knowing and no way of ever finding out for sure). The shooting dead of 28 people, with at least 100 rounds let off, took place within three minutes... and we're being asked to believe that "autistic, troubled" Lanza pulled it off with two handguns?
5. President Obama is using the tragedy as a way to institute martial law.
This theory is actually being circulated pretty heavily on Twitter and birther queen Orly Taitz has even addressed it on her blog. The theory is that Obama is using the Sandy Hook tragedy to remove all protection from American citizens to better control the population. From her blog post:
Obama and his regime are trying to disarm all of us, in order to gain an absolute power. They are trying to show that some person can appear out of the blue and slaughter people.
6. Adam Lanza was not physically able to do it because of his autism.
It should be noted the above image is full of factual errors. But this Twitpic has been passed around everywhere in the last 24 hours. The hashtags attached to it — #FalseFlag and #Foreign #Bankers — imply this is a New World Order conspiracy orchestrated by foreign bankers.
7. There are government shills monitoring Reddit's r/conspiracy subreddit.
R/conspiracy members have noticed a certain user who is deflecting any and all "alternative discussion" about the details surrounding Sandy Hook:
There is a new redditor who is commenting excessively and exclusively on any/every sandy hook post here on /r/conspiracy.
I noticed that he was kinda over the top the way he vigorously opposes every single alternative frame of thought regarding the Shooting. He is even out right combative.
I thought it was weird when I first noticed the frequency of his comments, so I hovered over his name and found out that he has only been a redditor for about 5 weeks.
8. The medical examiner was a government plant.
Website theconversativetreehouse.com makes the point, "When was the last time you saw an M.E. give a presser in a labcoat?" This theory is expanded upon by conspiracy site beforeitsnews.com, which argues that a .223 Bushmaster wasn't found anywhere near Lanza's body. (It, in fact, was.)
9. Israeli death squads carried out the Sandy Hook shooting.
This theory is actually the work of former Arizona Senator and GOP Campaign Finance Chairman Michael Harris. In an internationally televised broadcast he blamed the shootings on Jewish-controlled Hollywood and undercover Israeli Death Squads:
The facts are now becoming obvious. This is another case where Israel has chosen violence and terrorism where their bullying in Washington has failed. Israel believes the US “threw them under the bus,” particularly after the recent Gaza war, allowing Israel to be humiliated in the United Nations. Their response was to stage a terror attack, targeting America in the most hideous and brutal way possible, in fact, an Israeli “signature attack,” one that butchers children, one reminiscent of the attacks that killed so many children in Gaza?"
10. James Holmes and Adam Lanza's fathers were both connected to the LIBOR scandal.
Conspiracy theorists are connecting the facts that Robert Holmes and Peter Lanza were both supposed to testify at hearings for the LIBOR Bank Scandal. Thehulltruth.com points to a now deleted Examiner article with this pullquote:
The father of Newtown Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza is Peter Lanza who is a VP and Tax Director at GE Financial. The father of Aurora Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes is Robert Holmes, the lead scientist for the credit score company FICO. Both men were to testify before the US Sentate in the ongoing LIBOR scandal. The London Interbank Offered Rate, known as Libor, is the average interest rate at which banks can borrow from each other. 16 international banks have been implicated in this ongoing scandal, accused of rigging contracts worth trillions of dollars. HSBC has already been fined $1.9 billion and three of their low level traders arrested.
