A Woman Was Reunited With Her Birth Mother After This Photo Went Viral On Facebook

The photo was shared more than 100,000 times.

After searching for eight years, a woman was finally reunited with her birth mother after this photo was shared more than 100,000 times on Facebook:

Stacey Lee had been desperately searching for her mother, Brenda Drake, since she was 15, after she and two brothers were separated from Drake as young children following a family dispute.

Sadly, Lee had little luck with her search, so she decided to do something unconventional: She uploaded the photo of her sign on to Facebook in a last-ditch attempt to find her mother.

After just 20 hours, a woman who claimed to be Lee's cousin messaged her after seeing the photo and put her in touch with her birth mother.

Lee then made contact with her mother, after years of searching, with these messages on Facebook:

The pair arranged to meet in real life, and finally had a tearful reunion near Drake's home in Blackpool. "We were in shock," Lee said. "It was very emotional. We look a lot like each other and I am quite shy and quiet like her.”

She added that she was thrilled to finally be able to spend time with her mother: “There were times when I thought I would never be reunited."

Drake said she regretted losing contact with her daughter.

Drake changed her surname after getting married, and moved away after her separation from Lee's father. She went on to have four more children, Shannon, 19, Shona, 15, Aaron, 9, and Sabrina, 8.

Drake said: "I tried looking for them [Lee and her two brothers] but I always came to a dead end. I always thought that they would come looking for me when they turned 16 but I never heard anything from them."

"When I received the Facebook message from Stacey I couldn't believe it," she said. "She was so beautiful and I just couldn't wait to meet her. We are all looking forward to the future."
