I think the black cat always intended to fight the other cat and hired the “crows” (or whatever they are) to “rough him up a bit” before he started his own assault. You never see the birds attack the black cat and as we all know black cats and crows are all in the league of evil.

can tell your from the usa, it is just the done thing here in england that cats go outside, your seen as odd, and actually a little cruel if you keep them in, it is usually only pedigree cats that are kept indoors only. I let my cat outside because when I said I was thinking of keep him in, my entire family and a lot of my friends said got really upset with me, kinda like I was depriving the cat of cat a cat version of human rights, lol, I agreed at the time, so long as it was neutered and electronically tagged and what not. I regret this more than anything now though after he got squished by a car…. :-(
maybe an attitude change is needed in England, I dunno, its less straight forward than you would think
