I couldn’t get through the whole vid.  The guy’s monotone voice and zombie like reporting style made this so much more torturous to watch than the “Hey Guys” vid

No one should ever have to say that this kind of crap is beyond ridiculous. And by “crap” I mean, of course the controversy. 1. Almost every man and a very small number of women have penises. 2. Almost every woman and a very small number of men have vaginas. 3. Penises and vaginas are reproductive organs. 4. Practically every person alive, including all those who think of penises and vaginas as though they are Satanic, filthy organs that ought to be done away with, is able to have an opinion on this subject because some man put his erect penis into some woman’s vagina. 5. If God exists and created humans, then it’s also true that S/He created penises, vaginas, sex, sexual pleasure, the possibility of masturbation, the drive to have sex, erections, and everything else that’s part of sex. 6. If you can’t say the words “penis” and “vagina” in mixed company without experiencing anxiety or embarrassment, then something is seriously wrong with your thinking about sex, sexual organs, and humans (I’m lookin’ at you, Oprah “va-jay-jay” Winfrey). 7. Puritanical idiots are so predictable and so fucking boring when they’re being puritanical idiots.

for all those actually interested in this, I recommend reading Leo Steinberg’s “The Sexuality of Christ in the Renaissance and Modern Oblivion.” In it Dr. Steinberg Discusses the iconographic significance of Christ’s member. In short it is the proof of Christ’s fully realized humanity that acts in tandem with his divinity. The Catholic Church of this era emphasized this kind of art as a way of denying the claims of the various heretical sects of the middle ages. So there.

Shut the fuck up.  1) This type of painting, according to the video, has been around since the 12th century.
