I don’t like cookie-cutter CGI, Marvel superhero movies. As a comic book reader from youth, I like ones with some character and originality. Not just cartoon bad guys throwing cars at heroes that they effortlessly bat away while making quips with no threat or personal stakes at all.

Big budget, mainstream drama had all but disappeared from studio filmmaking and relegated to the indie sector. And it is exactly like films weren’t being made that were that original - as far as the studio world went. If you look at the record for the past half decade, its very sorry in that regard. And do you not think its a good thing that the box office this year will not just be dominated by sequels? Thats not at all a positive development?
