Two brothers and a woman have been arrested after a woman had acid thrown in her face outside a restaurant in Southampton.

Carla Whitlock, 37, suffered serious burns in the attack outside the Turtle Bay restaurant on 18 September.

The mother of six received hospital treatment and has been told she may not regain sight in one of her eyes, The Guardian reported.

On Tuesday, Hampshire police announced Billy Midmore, 22, and his brother Geoffrey, 26, from London, had been arrested alongside an unnamed 33-year-old woman.

The trio were arrested in Gillingham, Kent, just before 11pm yesterday.

Detective Inspector Will Whale said: "We have had a tremendous response from members of the public and we'd like to thank them for coming forward and speaking to us, and for sharing our appeals on social media."
