3. He also highlights that the live and neutral pins are insulated, protecting you when a plug is only halfway in.
4. Scott also points out the earth wire in the British plug is deliberately slack.
If something is pulling on the cable and all the wires start fraying and coming out, the live and the neutral wires, “the ones where the danger is”, will be pulled out first.
“So in the event of damage, it’s most likely earth wire will be the safe one, and no one is going to get killed,” he adds.
