Meet Archie The Scottish Terrier, The Star Of The Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony

Can we just have the dogs competing instead?

We're all agreed the Scottish terriers stole the show at the Glasgow opening ceremony, right?

    They were just fantastic.

Look how well behaved they were on BBC Breakfast the morning after the event as well.

    SO CUTE!

But one of the Scottie dogs may have been greater than all the rest. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Archie Clegg.

I've rested, I'm ready, bring it on Scotland!

Archie live-tweeted his experience at the opening ceremony on Wednesday night.

    And it was lovely.

Archie gave his followers an insight into the build-up to the ceremony.

On the big day, Archie and his owner, Jim, were pretty excited to be leading the Commonwealth nations out.

The day has arrived audience of 1.5 billon people Jim seems a bit tense For me it's just another walk around a stadium! Just follow me Jim!

    See.

Nothing could unsettle Archie before his moment in the spotlight.

    Unflappable.

Did we see you? Archie, you were fantastic.

Afterwards he received a well-deserved treat.

We back at the Archie motorhome. I think I did well! Dinner, water and my favourite dog chew. A grand day out!

    And a good sleep.

Not sure about all the fuss but we leave soon. Looking forward to my own bed and seeing my 'old ladies'.

Well done, Archie. Well done, Jim.
