Brian Cox Thinks Moon Landing Conspiracy Theorists Are "Colossal Nob Ends"

The British physicist made the remark on the anniversary of the lunar landing. H/T Huffington Post.

It was the 46th anniversary of the first moon landing on Monday.

It's the 46th Anniversary Apollo 11 moon landing. Mankind's first small step-The next giant leap will be #Mars #GYATM

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, who was part of the Apollo 11 crew, shared pictures and memories of the historic event.

I only took a few photos on the moon and this one was to show how the lunar dust was like talcum powder. #Apollo11

    As did NASA.

#OTD in 1969, one giant leap for mankind was taken when the Apollo 11 crew landed on the Moon http://t.co/9XC7OqpZKv

Basically, a lot of people marked the anniversary of mankind's incredible feat of landing on the moon for the first time.

However, there are some out there who believe the landing was a hoax played out on a sound stage.

To which British physicist Brian Cox had this to say on Monday.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if you don't think Apollo 11 landed on Moon you are a colossal nob end & should get a new brain

The tweet was retweeted over 5,000 times and gained this response from 85-year-old Aldrin.

. @ProfBrianCox is a pretty smart guy. Also the Russians would have exposed by now if we didn't land. #Apollo11 https://t.co/N8nLKtaqRe

Cox made similar remarks last year.

Getting emails from nob ends / Apollo hoax people today. Recent photo of Apollo 11 landing site here- now shut up http://t.co/JDYzcgvO8f

And he's standing by his spelling of knob.

Also - I prefer to spell nob end without the 'k' - always have, always will :-)

Rosetta scientist Matt Taylor said he was a fan of Cox's use of the word.

@ProfBrianCox nice use of "nob", needs to be used more I think :)

And the pair decided they needed a public service project to use it more.

@mggtTaylor there are so many people and causes against which it should be deployed. I'm going to start a project.

Myself and @mggtTaylor have decided to embark on a public service project to gratuitously insult the irrational https://t.co/eXWwD41MAM

Here's a reminder of how Aldrin reacted when accosted by conspiracy theorist Bart Sibrel back in 2002.
