Things You Feel While Searching For A New Job In NYC

You would think that a city with over 8 million people would have amazing jobs and opportunities for everyone. This, however, is not the case. More often than not, hunting for a new job in the Big Apple can cause more stress than anything!

Then you sit down and start searching for jobs on your computer, but you have no idea where to start because there are like a BILLION jobs listed!

Suddenly, panic sets in! What if you can't find a job? What if you don't meet the requirements for your dream position?! What if one of your friends gets the very same job that you're applying for?!?!

All of the companies give their positions overly-worded titles that make absolutely no sense to you. "I don't even know what an Account Solutions Conquistador is!!" (spoiler: it's a secretary).

You feel that many of the jobs are shady because they ask you to provide money upfront for background or credit checks. I DON'T HAVE MONEY! THAT'S WHY I'M JOB HUNTING!!!!!

You apply and apply and apply and apply. You modify your resume'. You pray to every deity you can think of. "Just give me a break! I need a new job!"

Then one day, you get a call from someone offering you a lot of money for a new job! You did it! YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO RICH!!

But then you hear the recruiter say that you have to make 200 outbound calls a day in an effort to sell copy paper.
