Because British people do not base their political beliefs upon religion like most of America does. We believe political power and religion should be seperate, if anything a prime minister mentioning religion in relation to his/her policies can lead to ridicule among a large proportion of brits.

That's a win. The level of ignorance among some Americans.. emphasis on some… astounds me. And of course we care about what happens in America, they are after all arguably the most powerful nation in the world.
