What Should You Have Actually Majored In?

Business majors had the luxury of having a respectable major that will allow parents to not worry about the direct of their lives while also having to not choose anything specific to study. Business was a launching pad where you could do pretty much whatever you wanted, without being a General Studies major.

Business

You would have been apt to be a doctor, maybe you loved school. Being pre-med was a basic way to say, "my student loans will be staggering but then I’ll pay them off when I’m Chief of Medicine." And let’s be honest, no one is not impressed by a doctor.

Pre-Med

They maybe weren’t the coolest kids to hang out with in college, not the kids to invite to a kegger usually but have you seen them now? They just sold their tech company to Google or something, or they are running Google. They are dating the hottest people, they drive the nicest cars; they are going back to their reunions with a self-satisfied smirk.

Computer Science

Let’s face it, life is hard. Reality bites. It’s far easier to crawl inside a book with a glass of wine and realize that others problems exist and escape your own for a while. You might have to suffer through four years of people asking what you are planning to do with your degree but you will be able to quote some obscure Czechoslovakian author, so that must mean something.

English

Marrying rich requires beauty and brains. You may not excel in book smarts but you are intelligent in ways that matter to attract a well-off mate. You maybe should have put in fewer hours at the library and more maintaining a well-honed physique. As Glinda from Wicked says, “I’ll teach you the proper poise when you talk to boys/ little ways to flirt and flounce.”
