Kendrick Lamar Announced The Release Date For His New Album

It has 16 tracks and arrives March 23.

The wait is over... almost. Kendrick Lamar's highly anticipated third album will officially arrive on March 23rd.

It's his first first album in nearly three years, following 2012's Grammy-nominated Good Kid, m.A.A.d City.

The Compton rap star announced the news Friday evening on Twitter, sharing a link to pre-order the album on iTunes.

After keeping fans guessing about the album's title for months, Lamar apparently decided to call it simply "[Untitled]."

The album has 16 tracks, including the previously released single "The Blacker The Berry." Conspicuously absent from the album's tracklist, however, is "i," the more cooly received lead single from last fall.

It looks like Lamar’s new record might have a title after all. The rapper uploaded a potential cover image to Instagram this morning with a caption that suggests the album will be titled To Pimp A Butterfly.
