I loved the response from the retiree who lost most of his pension. When Obama told him “you earned it”, this man's response was a very heart-felt “thank you”. I had the impression that he was almost thanking Obama more for the recognition of his lifetime of hard work than for Obama's intention to fix situations like his. Obama gets it. It's not so much the bottom line, or the policies, it's the slap in the face to the American worker administered by heartless corporations who focus only on the bottom line and not the folks who made them what they are.
