In Bill's defense, he really is an idiot. So he can't help it.

I was in Amsterdam recently and can honestly say the people there are some of the most wonderful I've ever met. The streets and canals are totaly devoid of litter, you feel safe walking at night and the whole city has a friendly atmosphere.  How many people do you see starting fights and stabbing each other after a smoke? Compare that with the amount of people starting fights and stabbing each other after a drink.  Let Amsterdam do their own thing - I'd much rather go there than America.

I'm completely for what Amsterdam stands for, but I would like to see stats on just the city of Amsterdam vs. a similar “like” city in America. The stats that were shown to rebut the American media show America vs. Netherlands and that's not what those shows were specifying.

I am an American who moved to Amsterdam from the suburbs of a small city in the south of the U.S. 12 years ago. As a woman, I feel safer here than I ever did in the U.S. I can literally walk/bike alone after a night out with friends without ever feeling scared. The people you see walking around the Red Light District are mostly tourists. And that area of town is not only about sex and drugs; actually there are some nice restaurants there. It's not an area that everyone would enjoy, but it's only a small part of Amsterdam anyway. You can easily avoid it if you want to and enjoy all the other wonderful things this beautiful city has to offer.

I have moved to Amsterdam two years ago from Norway, and I love it here!!
People are super nice, even most of the tourists are nice, hehe ;)
I almost never see any junkies, compered to Oslo, where they are everywhere begging you for money ( since we don't give them any help) Norway has a zero-tolerance and also one of the highest OD numbers in Europe, and Netherlands has one of the lowest!! People are much more accepting to people being different here, and it makes you feel very welcome. BUT I try to stay away form the Red Light District, only pass it if I need to go to the other side of it. It's not a nice place, angry male tourists and people who “just want to look at the hookers”. Something I find very strange, seriously think about it, stupid…. But it's mostly one short street, so it's no problem staying away form it!
Come see our lovely city, you'll love it! I'm not going anywhere and I would love to raise my kids here :)

I really can't stand how he claims to be this pious Catholic, yet lies to millions of people nightly. I hope some of you realize in America the bad apples get the most publicity. That is why everyone thinks Americans are such arrogant fat idiots. This video is very embarrassing.

What a bunch of BS. As usual, we're fed this tripe without an ounce of truth or credibility. My family and I just returned from Amsterdam last week and had a wonderful time. Nice people and plenty of controlled CoffeeShops (Pot shops). Stop lying to the public O'Reilly. You're only embarrassing yourself more each day. It's people like you that give Americans a bad name as if we need more help.

Well, it may just turn out that he is a talking head and to keep his job he has to kiss the butt of his employer (FOX) but, dang! If they just keep on flashing distortion and lies at us, how do they think we'll even watch them, except for the comedy of it all?

I have never been to the Netherlands, but I am well read and I have it in high esteem. I would love to travel and visit there. I hope you guys dont take to heart what Bill O'reilly says. He does not represent the USA in fact a lot of people watch him for fun. He is a comedian and a clown and Fox news is not far behind. At this time Amsterdam simply fits his public agenda.
