      I’m all for safety in the workplace, but that first letter is ridiculous (the response letter is as well, but it is intentionally so). The most basic question, of course, is why bother telling someone they would have been fired for an offense if they were already being fired? Bureaucracy at its finest, that. Just as alarming, though, is the fact that a pocket knife is a tool, not a weapon, and it’s a bit much that they be so completely banned from everyday life. My father and grandfather carried at least one pocket knife practically every day of their lives. It’s not a weapon, it’s a tool with many different useful functions. What would the Swiss think?
