Riff 11 months agoGenerally, yes, when people use “Obviously” followed by a clipped statement (in your case, an incomplete sentence), there is some implication of - not outright - hostility, because you’re saying that it should have been self-evident, thus, I shouldn’t have asked.
(Have you never heard snarky teens use this phrase? That’s kind of how I heard the “obviously” in my head.) But, really, my usage of ‘dude’ probably should have clued you in that I didn’t mean it to be completely accusatory. But again, text on the Internet has a way of losing intent and tone, eh?

AdventureNeckbeard 11 months agoNah man, I didn’t mean to come off as hostile if I did though. I know there’s anonymity on the internet, but I just can’t be a jackass to people that don’t deserve it. Miscommunication of text can be very frustrating.
